Kevin Nicholson

Retired Metropolitan Police Service Chief Inspector with extensive experience in armed policing and post-incident management. Since being seconded to the College of Policing in 2005, he has led the standardisation of Post Incident Management training and managed authorised professional practice relating to post-incident procedures for armed policing.

Kevin also developed the post-incident procedures following death or serious injury, applicable across wider areas of policing, which were published in 2020. In his role with the College of Policing, he has provided specialist advice to the IOPC and Coroners and has presented evidence at a number of inquests relating to armed policing deployments.
